Dr. Rohit C. Tilwani is a distinguished Special Science Teacher V and the current Research Unit Head at the Philippine Science High School–Central Luzon Campus, where he has served since 2012. A licensed chemist and a cum laude graduate of BS Chemistry, he also holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Mapúa University and a Diploma in Science Education from Aichi University of Education in Japan as a MEXT scholar. Throughout his tenure within the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), he has occupied significant leadership roles, including Chief of the Curriculum and Instruction Division from 2020 to 2022, and he currently serves as a part-time Associate Professor III at National University – Clark Campus. His extensive academic contributions include publishing research on nanocomposite hydrogels and cellulose-based materials in international journals, as well as presenting his research findings at global conferences. Recognized for his excellence, he has received the NAST Intellectual Property Award and was featured as a “Bayaning Chemist” in 2020 for his initiatives as a frontliner during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond the classroom, he frequently serves as a resource speaker and judge for international scientific fora and has coached students for the International Chemistry Olympiad, demonstrating a career-long commitment to advancing chemistry education and scientific research.
